The Foundation’s Library, as of  October 2021, implements the original program ″Robots in the Library″, in an effort to attract children to book reading. The program combines technology with a book reading, aiming at students of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades of the Primary School. The group meetings are hosted every Tuesday, 17.00 – 18.30 in the Children’s section of the Library in building A’ of the Cultural Center, with Ms. Marina Raouzeou, a primary school teacher with expertise in new technologies and ten years of experience in the field.

Each meeting has a specific theme and begins with the reading of excerpts from selected and favorite books of classic and contemporary children’s literature. Children then, bring the heroes to life and interact with them by creating constructions from simple, everyday materials, which they finally materialize using the special robotics kits

Subjects that have been completed include indicatively:

  • Familiarity with ancient technology
  • Waiting for the snow
  • Exploring the world of birds
  • The forest and its secrets

At the end of each meeting, children borrow books of the thematic section from the Children’s Library, as well as books of their own preference.

Excitement, surprise and anticipation for the next meeting always prevails among the group members.
