OBESITY: A SOCIAL PLAGUE OF THE 21ST CENTURY”



Weight gain among the population is one of the most important public health problems. This is the reason why the World Health Organisation refers to obesity as the “Pandemic of the 21st century”.
A nation-wide study shows that, in our country, the percentage of overweight and obese people aged 40-49 years old is, disappointingly, as high as 70.2% for men and 53.6% for women.
